Do you have a mission for your business? Is it the mission of your business or your personal mission? Do you know your business mission off by heart? Do you regularly share your business mission with others?
In this article I am going to share with you, what your business mission should look like and how to write it. Also, why you should be celebrating your business mission.
Your Business Mission.
When we think of our business mission, we might think of growing our business, hitting particular sales targets, getting a specific reach or a certain number of followers.
That’s great but you’re only thinking about you and what you and your business want or need.
When we only thinking about ourselves, our businesses can become quite limited. We can fail to see what our customers actually want or need from us. Focusing on ourselves can also reduce our consistency when it comes to showing up on social media, as we take into account more about how we feel about sharing content rather than what others are getting out of our posts.
What Your Mission Should Focus on.
When you add a purpose to your mission you will find you have a better understanding of how to make things happen and move your business forward.
You need to focus on who your business helps and how you do that. It doesn’t matter if you’re a coach, sell lipstick or make cakes.
What is your purpose? By answering the following questions, you will be able to put a purpose to your mission.
Who do you help?
How do you help them?
Keep it short. Keep it simple. Try to write your mission in just a few sentences.
See my mission.
You will also find that by putting your customers in the centre of your mission it will be easier to show up on social media and you’ll have a better understanding of what to say and what your customers need to know or see.

Know Your Mission.
Hopefully by answering those simple questions you have the start of a new mission. It might take a few rewrites to perfect, but now the focus is on your customers.
It is now important to remember your mission in all that you do, say and even with the things you don’t do. Ask yourself what would your ideal customer want, how is it best to speak to them, where can you find them and what language do they use?
I have even printed out my mission so I can read it everyday before I start my working day.
Celebrate Your Mission.
Now for the scary part.
Share your mission with your audience.
If you focus on your ideal customer, the people your products and services help, then this will reduce your fear of sharing your mission on social media, because you’re focus is on who and how you help.
Sharing your business mission with your audience, allows them to get to know you, as well as builds relationships and trust. So let your followers know your business mission.
I hope this article has helped you to understand the importance of having a customer focused mission.
