Are you worried about the future of our planet? Do you want to use less plastic and more recyclable or biodegradable products? Do you want to be able to buy more environmentally friendly and cruelty free products? Would you like to know how you can start to make a difference?

In this article I am going to discuss some of the changes that everyone can start to implement into their everyday life in order to help save our planet for future generations.

Buying and selling environmentally friendly and cruelty free products is a huge thing right now and is predicted to only get bigger. Not only is it important that we start to protect our planet and wildlife for the sake of future generations, consumers are starting to have a conscience about the impact and part they play in looking after our home, planet Earth.

So how can we start to make some positive changes in our own lives?

Below are a few ideas that we can all start to implement in our homes.

Recycle.

To start we can recycle as much as possible. Our household waste should be very small. Your local council will be able to tell you what they currently collect and local amenity sites will offer even more recycling options.

Reuse.

Reusing products will also limit our waste. For example, shopping at and giving unwanted items and clothing to charity shops, using plastic food pots for other things such as plants or arts and crafts, and using old clothing or fabric as cleaning cloths.

Kitchen Changes.

There are so many new and innovative kitchen and cleaning products on the market, that making a couple of simple swaps will be easy! Here’s a list of just a few to get you started.

Buying pouches of soap to refill bottles will mean you are using less plastics.

Replace cling film with beeswax food wrap.

Take fabric grocery bags to the supermarket instead of using plastic ones.

Purchase loose fruit and vegetables instead of bagged where possible, this can also sometimes be cheaper!

Replace paper towels with napkins and tea towels, which can be washed and reused.

Use reusable drinks bottles and lunch boxes rather than using single use packaging.

Bathroom Changes.

Once again simple swaps can really help to protect our environment.

Swap plastic toothbrushes for bamboo ones.

Use plastic free products such as bars of soap, shampoo and conditioner.

Use bamboo cotton buds instead of plastic ones.

Swap face wipes for biodegradable ones or makeup remover pads which can be washed and reused.

I hope these simple tips give you an idea of how you too can help to make changes in your life to help protect our planet.

All of these products are available online, check out sites such as Etsy and Instagram for small local businesses, as well as local plastic free shops.
